Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial Jury Deadlocked After Fourth Day of Deliberations
The jury in the murder trial of Massachusetts mother Lindsay Clancy completed its fourth day of deliberations on Tuesday without reaching a verdict, informing the court that members were unable to reach a unanimous decision.
After being notified that the panel had reached an impasse, the judge dismissed jurors for the day without declaring a mistrial. Deliberations in the case are scheduled to resume Wednesday morning for a fifth day.
Jury Reports Impasse
Clancy is facing murder charges in Massachusetts in connection with the strangulation deaths of her three children. Following the conclusion of testimony and closing arguments, the jury began considering the charges late last week.
By Tuesday evening, jurors communicated to the court that they were deadlocked after four days of evaluating evidence. The judge ordered the panel sent home for the night, with instructions to return the following morning to continue work on the case.
Deliberations Enter Fifth Day
When deliberations resume on Wednesday, the panel will attempt to break the impasse and reach consensus on the charges against Clancy. Legal observers and court officials will monitor whether the jury can come to an agreement or if further instructions will be needed from the bench.
