Texas Pitmasters Bring Authentic Smokehouse Cooking to Brooklyn
Texas barbecue has officially arrived in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with the launch of Kirbee’s, a new smokehouse founded by two acclaimed Texas pitmasters and alumni of Fort Worth’s famed Goldee’s BBQ.
The establishment brings authentic Lone Star State barbecue traditions—and the signature lines that accompany them—to New York City. First announced in early 2026, the venue prepared throughout the spring and summer to deliver award-winning Texan smokehouse methods to Brooklyn before making its official debut in late August.
Goldee’s BBQ Alumni Expand to New York
The team behind Kirbee’s brings strong barbecue credentials to the local dining landscape. Having honed their skills at Goldee’s BBQ, widely regarded as one of Texas’s top barbecue destinations, the pitmasters are executing traditional slow-smoking techniques in their new Greenpoint space.
By transplanting their background from Texas to New York, the founders aim to introduce authentic southern smokehouse staples to neighborhood residents and regional visitors alike.
