Adult Swim Marks 25th Anniversary With Robot Chicken Special and New Series Orders
Late-night network block Adult Swim is marking its 25th anniversary with a mix of milestone special programming, digital marathons, and new animated series greenlights.
25 Years of Late-Night Television
To celebrate its silver anniversary, Adult Swim released the “Robot Chicken Adult Swim 25th Anniversary Special” in late August 2026. The special featured the long-running stop-motion sketch comedy series honoring the network block’s quarter-century legacy of unconventional humor and animation.
In addition to television specials, fans were invited to celebrate 25 years of Adult Swim with online marathons showcasing the brand’s iconic “Infomercials.” The late-night surreal shorts have long served as a defining pillar of the block’s experimental comedy style.
New Slate Additions and Genndy Tartakovsky Partnership
Alongside its anniversary retrospectives, Adult Swim continues to develop new original programming. The network greenlit “Heist Brothers,” a new animated series from creator Genndy Tartakovsky. The project, which focuses on frogs and is produced with Cartoon Network Studios, was highlighted as part of Adult Swim’s upcoming programming slate at the Annecy animation festival in June 2026.
Combining milestone anniversary broadcasts with new series orders, Adult Swim continues to build on its 25-year history of late-night animation and comedy programming.
