Former Presidents and Vice President Vance Gather in NYC for 9/11 Memorial Ceremony
Former U.S. presidents and Vice President JD Vance gathered in downtown New York City on Friday to attend the annual September 11 memorial ceremony at Ground Zero.
The event at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum brought together high-profile national figures marking the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks. Attendees included former President Joe Biden and former First Lady Jill Biden, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, alongside Vice President Vance.
Bipartisan Attendance at Ground Zero
Four former U.S. presidents reunited in Manhattan for the commemorative proceedings, presenting a rare display of public unity across political administrations. The leaders stood together alongside victims’ families and members of the public during the tribute.
Former President Donald Trump did not attend the ceremony in New York City, opting out of the gathering at Ground Zero.
Observing the Anniversary
The annual September 11 ceremony in lower Manhattan honors the memory of the victims killed in the 2001 attacks. The event traditionally includes solemn reflections, moments of silence, and the public reading of the names of those who lost their lives.
