Dramatic footage emerging from Nepal shows a distinct green multi-story home standing firm against raging floodwaters that destroyed surrounding buildings, earning the residence the nickname "the miracle green house."
The flood disaster swept through parts of Nepal, washing away nearby structures and leaving a trail of destruction that claimed more than 1,000 lives. As torrents of water rushed through the area, video footage captured surrounding buildings collapsing and being swept away while the green house remained structurally intact.
A Symbol of Survival
Despite being trapped inside as floodwaters surged around the property, the family residing in the building emerged safe. The structure’s resilience in the face of violent currents led observers and news outlets to hail the home as a symbol of survival amid widespread catastrophe.
In the days following the flooding, images and video of the standing home circulated widely online and across global media outlets, drawing international attention to the structure and the family who survived inside it.
